So how has the new year been so far for you? Did you make a new years’ resolution or maybe that’s not just your thing?
We often make resolutions linked to our physical well-being; eating healthily, exercising more and drinking less. But what about your home? Your physical space? Maybe you’re looking to inject some colour through decorating, adding some soft furnishings or even updating those curtains. Perhaps your furniture needs a new lease of life; or maybe you just want a change!
Sometimes though, it’s just knowing where to start. When our clients come to us for their upholstery or soft furnishings projects, they’re all at different stages of the process. Some know exactly what they want; colour, texture, finish, fabric. But others come to us looking for advice and guidance and we’re here to help them every step of the way.
Take Alice for example. Alice had a three-piece suite that was tired, out-dated and she wanted it reupholstering. It was part of a bigger styling project for the living room which included repainting the walls, new carpet and updating the furniture. After our initial consultations, it was clear that to achieve the best result with the upholstery, we needed to collaborate on the whole project.
This is where we meet Jennifer from Jennifer Jones Styling www.jenniferjonesstyling.com I’d worked with Jennifer before and knew that she’d be able to work with us to restyle Alice’s living room perfectly. Jennifer offers a variety of different home styling options from her ‘Home Styling Consultation’ through to an ‘Ultimate Home Styling’ guide, enabling clients to choose the package suitable for them.
Alice, Jennifer and I worked together to create her perfect living room, selecting colours, fabrics and furniture that would complement the curtains (these were the only item that were staying). We sourced a range of fabric samples from our range of suppliers and finally settled on the Tyger Fable Weave in Galaxy blue from Linwood Fabrics for the suite and the zigzag Nostalgia fabric from Cristina Marrone fabrics for the bespoke footstool and scatter cushions.
